With over 25 years in accounting — including a decade at Fortune 500 companies and early-career training in public Accounting — we bring the depth of a Big Four background and the flexibility of an independent practice.
Experience
Built on Real-World Financial Leadership
Kristin Jacobs founded Periculum Consulting after more than a decade at a Fortune 500 company, where she played a leading role in the company's initial SOX implementation and ongoing compliance program. Before that, she worked in Public Accounting and was selected to help launch the firm's Risk Consulting practice in Richmond. That foundation — Big Four rigor, public company scale, and hands-on operational work — shapes every engagement at Periculum. Working across a variety of industries- retail, insurance, manufacturing, distribution, and staffing- brings perspective that goes well beyond any single industry.

Trained at Arthur Andersen, promoted early to Senior, and spent a decade at CarMax reviewing 10-Q/K filings, partnering with the Controller, and reporting to the Audit Committee.
